Jack’s Newborn Session
We shot Dana and Dustin’s maternity session back in the fall (image below from their session). So we were super excited to meet the newest member of their family ‘Jack’! Jack was 3 weeks old when he came for his session which generally is a little later than I prefer for newborns, however he was born about a month early so he was still nice and sleepy and snuggly.
Newborn sessions begin long before baby and mom show up to the studio. Some sessions we end up spending 2-3 hours getting everything perfect before our little model arrives. Picking out the perfect blankets, wraps, accessories and props, setting up the studio, stuffing buckets/baskets so they are super comfy for the little one to lay in and of course cranking up the heat so it’s nice and warm. It is quite the process, but it is SOOOO worth it to work with absolutely adorable babies.
This adorable little deer outfit (below left) was made for Jack by his grandma, lucky little man to have a grandma that is so crafty! Look at that tiny little nose… so cute.
Jack was wide awake when he showed up, but quite quickly fell asleep once we got him into the cozy, warm studio. I could try to put to words how absolutely precious he was, but I will let the images do the talking 🙂
When I have been working on a session for too long I have a hard time deciding between B&W or colour. I put it out to my amazing followers on my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/jesiphoto to find out what they preferred, and almost everyone voted for the colour version of the image below… what do you think?
I had a great time with Jack and his mom at Jack’s Newborn Session. Hope to see him many more times as he grows up!!
